About · Background

Hands-on experience across production, mechanics and mechatronics.

The background behind Studio Besselink comes from practical work in thermoplastic composites, metal construction, mechanical engineering and mechatronics, including production environments, toolrooms, machine development and industrial projects.

Background

Experience used in practical design decisions.

  1. Thermoplastic composites

More than 10 years of experience around thermoplastic composite production, process development and manufacturing environments.

  2. Metal construction & toolroom work

More than 5 years of hands-on experience with metal construction, toolroom-type work and practical mechanical fabrication.

  3. Mechanical engineering & mechatronics

Experience around machinery, mechanisms, sensors, controls, assembly and technical problem solving.

  4. Production environments

Experience working with real manufacturing constraints such as repeatability, access, maintenance, process flow, operators, tooling and production readiness.

How that is used

Design with manufacture and use in mind.

Production experience helps identify practical issues early: material choice, access, assembly order, interfaces, tolerances, serviceability and how a part will actually be made and used.

Where a project requires a process that is not available in-house, that step can be designed for and prepared correctly without presenting it as an internal production capability.
